Fees

Fees are payable monthly in advance. An invoice will be issued by email at the beginning of the month and is payable within 10 days of receipt. We accept all childcare vouchers. Fees not paid within the month they are due will incur a late payment charge, unless a prior agreement has been reached with the Directors. Please contact us for our current fee structure.

Early Education Entitlement – Government Funding

15 hours Universal funding

All parents are entitled to receive government funding for their child the term after their child’s third birthday. There is no eligibility criteria to be met. The statutory maximum entitlement is 15 hours per week over a 38 week period. Happy Days Nursery offers the Education Entitlement to eligible children pro rata over a 50 week period (i.e. 11.4 hours per week) and in line with Essex County Council, divides the entitlement into 3 terms. Children can attend more than the 11.4 hour entitlement, in which case the cost will be met in full by the parents/carers. Funding can be used to cover any of our clubs (breakfast, lunch and afternoon). This funding can be used at up to two providers.  

30 hours Extended Entitlement

The universal entitlement for all 3/4 year olds is 15 hours per week. Families that are or believe themselves to be eligible may themselves apply for an additional 15 hours of funding (extended entitlement) at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk. Once parents successfully apply online, they will be given a code, which they then provide to their chosen provider(s). Providers then use the eligibility checking system to check that the code is valid and if it is, book that parent’s place. Parents will be expected to reconfirm their eligibility every three months. At Happy Days, we offer the 30 hours funding to children attending 3 or more days (8.30am-4.30pm) with us and spaces are offered on a waiting list basis. This funding may be split with a number of providers. Happy Days Nursery has made it a condition that parents wishing to access the 30 hours with us will need to choose Happy Days for the universal 15 hours funding if they wish to split the 30 hours with another provider/s. We will be unable to offer the additional hours if parents do not use Happy Days for the universal 15 hours funding. As with the 15-hour offer, the government has stated that funding for the 30-hour offer is only for the provision of early years education and care and is not intended to cover the cost of consumable items, such as drinks, meals, snacks, nappies, craft supplies or additional services such as trips and other experiences provided by the nursery.

2 Year Old Funding

There is also funding available for some two year olds whereby certain criteria need to be met in order to qualify and an application process completed. The statutory maximum entitlement is 15 hours per week over a 38 week period, which is stretched over 50 weeks at Happy Days Nursery and equates to 11.4 hours per week. This funding can be used at one provider only. Please enquire with the Manager if you wish to know if your child may qualify.

Early Years Pupil Premium

The aim of the Early Years Pupil Premium is to close the gap between children from disadvantaged backgrounds and other  children by providing additional funding to settings such as ours, therefore providing the opportunity to raise the quality of provision we offer.

All children aged three and four (not two year olds), who meet the eligibility criteria will benefit from the funding. This funding is paid directly to us on an hourly rate basis, linked to claimed hours for entitled children. In order to be able to claim this funding we require parents to sign the funding agreement which asks for details of parent’s date of birth and National Insurance number.

Which three-and four-year-olds will be eligible for the EYPP?

A child will be eligible for the EYPP if they:

  1. Are in a low-income family and their parents are in receipt of benefits (one or more), for example, Child Tax Credit and Income Support;

  2. Have been adopted from care;
  3. Have left care through special guardianship;
  4. Have been looked after by the local authority for at least the span of one day;
  5. Are subject to a child arrangement order.

As an Early Years setting we have the freedom to choose how we spend the money to best support disadvantaged children in our care. Our nursery will use the additional funding in the following ways:

  1. Continue our commitment to furthering our knowledge within our Continuing Professional Development by attending relevant training.

  2. Creating ‘Home Learning’ lending bags and packs.
  3. Buy in any specialist services to support families and children (this includes the cost of staffing such events), such as, behaviour management, parenting classes and information awareness sessions.

  4. Purchasing additional resources and enriching our provision within the outdoor and indoor environment.

  5. Provide enrichment activities or experiences such as ‘Living Eggs’, visits or trips, visitors such as storytellers or forest school specialists.

Measuring the impact of the EYPP.

We are continually reviewing the data we collect on children’s attainment and refreshing our strategies to support children who are falling behind or in danger of doing so. The practical ideas that are implemented on a daily basis are only a few of the strategies used and their success can be monitored through the data. However, there are other ways that we measure and monitor the impact we have on families. These are:

  1. EYPP and LAC Individual Plans containing child’s, parent’s and practitioner’s voice and evaluation of spending;

  2. Parent questionnaires;
  3. Informal conversations at the start or end of a day;
  4. Parent feedback forms provided with children’s Learning Journals and Focus Child meetings;
  5. Focus Child meetings or Family Support Meetings;
  6. Success after the implementation of the Early Help Assessments (EHA’s);
  7. Conversations with professionals we work alongside to support families;
  8. Feedback from feeder primary schools;
